FOCCUS Exercise

The FOCCUS exercise is an excellent tool for helping couples identify areas of strength and areas where growth is needed in their relationship. Couples complete this exercise on their own time, and then meet with the Pre-Cana instructor to discuss their FOCCUS report.

Couples find the FOCCUS exercise to be a great conversation starter, as it covers a lot of issues important to marriage.

The FOCCUS exercise does not have to be completed in one sitting. The exercise takes about 45 minutes in total to complete.

The couple should take the FOCCUS exercise separately from each other, but should talk with each other about the topics the exercise raises once both have completed it.

It is a good idea to have a notepad with you as you complete the exercise. Often, the exercise brings up issues you’ll want to discuss with each other later.

The FOCCUS exercise is an important part of our Pre-Cana program.
